I am studying Birth Attendant Training by Rhea Dempsey, and attending births this year as a student Doula support. I have been a body work therapist for 4 years, trained in Womb and Fertility massage, Hawaiian Lomilomi and Hapai pregnancy massage. I would be honoured to witness, support and hold the expansion of your story, your body & your family. I hope to help usher your bub into the world with love and respect, holding you in the intensity of the experience. They say "it takes a village". I would be so grateful to be part of your village. I love to have a laugh, learn, listen and connect while having a cup (or two.. or three..!) of tea.

I'm a doula who fell in love with birth during my own pregnancy and intervention-free homebirth. Walking alongside women as they step into the role of Mother is my great passion. I believe that exploring your thoughts and emotions leading up to your birth is a pivotal part of the process.
I have a background in Psychology, History and Literature Studies, and I am interested in how cultural and social beliefs play into our experience as birthing women.
I am privileged to be undertaking Birth Attendant Training with Rhea Dempsey (Doula and Author of Birth with Confidence and Beyond the Birth Plan) so that I can better understand the nuances of holding space for this sacred rite of passage.
Having experienced pregnancy loss, and navigating my choices within the hospital system, I am intimately familiar with the myriad of feelings that can come up around conception, pregnancy and birth.
I'm here for you if you want to discuss your hopes, fears and dreams, and gather in a stronger circle of support for your birth.

I'm 36 years old, based in the western suburbs of Melbourne (Narrm), and currently training as a doula under Rhea Dempsey. As I move through this learning, I'm offering free doula support to gain hands-on experience supporting women through pregnancy, birth, and postpartum. This work feels deeply aligned for me, to walk alongside women during such a powerful, transformative threshold. I believe that whatever a woman chooses in her birth is the right choice in that moment. Birth is not fixed, it's fluid, and we are allowed to shift, adapt, and respond to what unfolds. My role is to support you in feeling informed, held, and confident in your choices, wherever they lead.
I'm particularly drawn to physiological and home births, but I also wholeheartedly support hospital births and caesarean births. I value all birth experiences and honour the many ways babies arrive earthside. I bring a sense of ritual, calm, and presence into the spaces I hold. I love creating environments that feel honest, grounded, and safe, where you can soften, be vulnerable, and feel truly supported. Alongside this, I run my own jewellery business, which allows me flexibility and spaciousness to be present during your pregnancy and postpartum journey. I'm currently supporting a friend through their pregnancy and already learning so much through this intimate, real-life experience, alongside my studies.
I've also experienced my own physiological birth, which continues to shape the way I understand and respect the innate wisdom of the body. I'm deeply passionate about birth, about advocacy, and about ensuring women feel seen, heard, and supported every step of the way.
I'm available across the western suburbs, and open to travelling northside and southside depending on location.
I want to lastly thank you for your openness to sharing this sacred journey and alllowing me to learn through supporting you, it is a deep honour.

Hi lovely, I’m Peninah, I’m currently training with Rhea Dempsey to be a doula, and it would be such an honour to walk alongside you through this journey of pregnancy, birth, and the transformation into motherhood/parenthood. This is such a sacred and life-changing time and I'd love to be one of your team to hold you through it. With a grounding presence and calm reassurance for all the emotions and unknowns that can arise along the way, as well as helping you bring the excitement of dreaming into being the life you, your partner and your village are creating.
I’m also a certified Zen Thai Shiatsu practitioner and love cooking nourishing food, both of which I’d love to weave into the support I offer.
For the past six years I’ve been facilitating women’s circles, reflective and embodiment workshops, and retreats, creating and holding space for people moving through major life transitions with warmth, ritual, movement and deep listening.
I'd love to co-create a birth-space with you that feels calm, safe, and magical, where you and your partner can soften, feel held, and move through this transformative birth, feeling connected, calm and joyous and empowered. Whether at home or in hospital, I’d love to support you and your birthing team in welcoming your baby into the world with presence, love and joy.
With love,
Peninah

I’m katie — a Northern English lass who found her heart and home in the inner north of Melbourne.
For my whole working life I’ve been a hairdresser, and what that really means is I’ve spent years showing up for people. Listening properly, making them feel comfortable, holding a space where they can breathe and just be. That gift travels with me everywhere — especially into birth.
Off the clock you’ll find me outside, moving through life with my community — walking, dancing, getting delightfully muddy — sharing all the playful and tender moments that make us human. I believe deeply in the power of togetherness — that we are always better held, witnessed and loved as a community.
And that’s what I’m here to do for you.
I’ll bring warmth, a little laughter, and a whole lot of heart to your birthing space. No fuss, no overwhelm — just honest, grounded support so you feel truly heard every step of the way. Together we’ll find your strength, your rhythm, and your confidence as you open up to welcoming your beautiful baby. I’m so glad you found your way here. 🌿

I'm 32 years old and just at the beginning of my birth attendant training! I'm known to be a warm, empathetic and compassionate person. I love and cherish my friends deeply and have been on a mission to make it a cornerstone in my life to show up for my community in meaningful ways these days. I love to laugh and to make others laugh, I love a boogie (house, dnb, pop, soul, jazz, trance, disco to name a few), cooking and being surrounded by art and nature 🌿🍄🌼 and my beautiful cat Joe 🐱
also I'm a Leo sun ☀️ Cancer moon 🌙 and Gemini rising 🌅
I am really excited to be at the beginning this journey and would be so honoured for you to have me at your birth ✨
